A practical course for those of you who are parents or carers of children aged under 5 years
About the course
If you are concerned about your child's communication, language or learning, and want some practical ideas as to how to help them, then this course is for you.
This course will provide you with:
- A wealth of information and an opportunity to share experiences with other parents and carers of children with similar communication challenges
- Practical advice and strategies which are easy to implement in your home
- Let's Talk with Under 5s workbook, a practical resource containing an abundance of tips, ideas and strategies
- Registration with OCN London to enable you to achieve accreditation at level 1 (accredited courses only)
You'll be taught over seven two-hour sessions. These are fun and interactive and cover a wide range of topics.

plus VAT per person, excluding optional accreditation and marking.
Accreditation and marking can be currently purchased separately for an additional £103.00 inc. VAT, rising to £105.50 inc. VAT from 1st August 2024.

If you want to delve a bit deeper, then apply for Speech and Language Support for 0-3s or Speech and Language Support for 3-5s. This will develop your knowledge and practical skills in key areas and can lead to accreditation at level 2 or 3.
Communication Friendly Home-Based Settings (CFHBS)
Completing Let's Talk with Under 5s with accreditation at level 1 is one of several available first steps for childminders and foster parents achieving Communication Friendly Home-Based Setting status.
