The aim of this story is to help the child to become aware of the different parts of their mouth: the lips, tongue and teeth, and initially to copy the movements and then be able to initiate oral movements themselves. The Lulu character makes this more fun!
It is important to appreciate that this book does not aim to improve the strength or range of oral movements. It is an introduction to the parts of the mouth. The use of this story will support all children, but particularly those lacking in confidence, to copy an adult making oral movements and forming speech sounds.
Lulu can be enjoyed by all young children (from the age of two) and can form part of speech and language therapy support for children with speech, language and communication needs.
Format: A 43-page A5-sized book, which is available in paperback and e-book
